Black Tailed Buff Variety

Male

The whole plumage is a deep Reddish-Brown Buff color with a Black tail

Comb, Face, Wattles and Earlobes:  Bright red

Beak:  Light horn shading to white at tip

Eyes:  Reddish Bay

Shanks and Toes:  Pinkish white

Head:  Golden-brown Buff.  Slightly lighter than rest of body

Neck:  
Hackles:  Golden-brown Buff.  Black spots are possible at feather ends

Back:  Reddish-Brown Buff

Saddle:  Reddish-Brown Buff, displaying a slightly stronger shade

Tail:
Main Tail, Sickles, and Coverts:  Black with sometimes Brown edging

Wings:  
Shoulders and Bows:  Dark Mahogany to Auburn Red color
Primaries:  Black edged with brown
Secondaries:  Black and brown

Plumage:  Rest of plumage is deep Reddish-Brown Buff

Under-color:  Salmon


Female

The whole plumage is a plain reddish-brown Buff color with a black tail.

Shading contrast within the hackles and shoulders is a bit less than the cocks.

Black spots at feather ends of head and hackles are a bit more than the cocks

Comb, Face, Wattles and Earlobes:  Bright red

Eyes:  Reddish Bay

Shanks and Toes:  Pinkish white

Head:  Strong Golden Buff.  Black spots are possible at feather ends

Plumage:  Rest of plumage is deep reddish-brown Buff
